What Is Sclerotherapy?

Telangiectasia, also known as spider veins, can be caused by genetics, hormonal changes, obesity, blood clots, a medical condition, and medications. Spider veins are usually blue, red, or purple and may be easily seen through the skin as they keep branching out on the face and legs. Our team performs sclerotherapy to treat both varicose and spider veins, decreasing the appearance of these veins on the face and body. A nonsurgical procedure with no required recovery period, sclerotherapy can help you get more beautiful skin that you'll want to stop covering up. Schedule a consultation at Luxx Medical Spa and Wellness Center in Spanish Fork, UT to learn more about minimally invasive sclerotherapy, plus other skin treatments.

What to Expect...

Sclerotherapy may be completed in a private treatment room quickly and typically without anesthesia. The spider veins being corrected will be determined, and then the overlying skin will be sanitized. A fine-gauge needle will be introduced into the vein, and the sclerosing solution will be applied. The needle will be removed, and a bandage will cover the site of injection to treat any minor bleeding. This process will be repeated until all spider veins have been treated.
